His Majesty appoints three new dzongdas

May 1: His Majesty the King awarded Khadhar to three new dzongdas today. They are Sonam Jigme, Rinzin Dorji, and Karma Dukpa.
Sonam Jigme is the new Gasa Dzongda, Rinzin Dorji is the Samtse dzongda and Karma Dukpa is the Zhemgang Dzongda.
43-year-old Sonam Jigme is from Gangkhar in Tashiyangtse. He has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok. He served as a militia officer for five years. He joined service in 1991 and was serving as the Regional Director of Trade in Samdrupjongkhar prior to his present appointment.
Rinzin Dorji has a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the International Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands. He joined service in 1988. He is from Shinkhar in Zhemgang. He was serving as the Chief Planning Officer and head of programme service division of the Gross National Happiness Commission.
Karma Dukpa has a Masters Degree in development management from the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines. He joined service in 1995. 40-year-old Karma Dukpa is from Sarpang. He was serving as the Phuentsholing Dungpa prior to his present appointment.
