CONSTRUCTION EXPO IN JUNE
The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is going to organize a construction expo starting June 2 at Changlingmithang in Thimphu.
A five-day expo will provide platform to foster new business relationships, a workshop to explore innovation and a venue to experience new tools and equipments.
Phub Tshering, the General Secretary of BCCI, said: “Construction expo is an event where you showcase different types of construction equipments, materials, technologies and techniques and also to bring about the companies who have the expertise to showcase it to the public.”
“We are going to organize the construction expo because Bhutan is a developing country and, for that matter, if we look at the 10th five-year plan budget, the maximum budget is allocated to the infrastructure development such as airports, roads, bridges, schools, hospitals,” he said adding that the event will provide opportunities for the private sectors those who are taking part in the construction sector in Bhutan to capitalize on such opportunities.
The construction expo aims to bring in various construction equipments to be sold to interested buyers.
Phub Tshering said that the event expects to get lot of equipment suppliers from outside the country along with the domestic suppliers so that the Bhutanese builders and construction companies can have a choice to buy different construction equipments.
“It is also poised to showcase the best technologies in machinery design, tools and parts for constructing bridges, buildings, roads and other infrastructural facilities,” he said.
He also said that the expo will provide avenues for manufactures and suppliers to create awareness and to promote their products to Bhutanese buyers as well as buyers from the region.
