Sri Lankan donation for Buddha statue
28 May, 2010 – The president of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa, has contributed USD 10,000 to the Bhutanese government for the successful construction of the Buddha Dordenma Statue in Kuenselphodrang, Thimphu.
The ambassador of Sri Lanka in New Delhi, Prasad Kariyawasam, on behalf of the President of Sri Lanka, presented the draft to Bhutan’s ambassador to India, Maj. Gen. V Namgyel yesterday at the royal Bhutanese embassy in New Delhi.
