His Majesty addresses Japanese parliament

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen paid a visit to the Japanese Diet, the parliament, yesterday.

The royal couple is on a state visit to Japan on the invitation of the Japanese Emperor.

His Majesty also addressed the parliament.

Day before yesterday, the royal couple attended a state banquet at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

They were welcomed by the Crown Prince of Japan on behalf of Emperor Akihito who is in the hospital.

About 150 people including Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended the banquet.
