Tara Air pays compensation
…almost a year after the crash

The claims come almost a year after the air crash. Soon after the crash, insurance companies raised issues on “identification” of the Bhutanese passengers, who had travelled in Nepalese names.
But Tara Air’s chief executive officer Vijay Shrestra had assured that the claims process would be expedited and that the “identification” was not a problem.

It’s the insurance companies that Tara Air is insured for, who would pay the claims. Tara Air had begun processing the claims about two weeks ago with the Nepal Rashtra Bank, the Central Bank of Nepal after it started receiving funds from its underwriters.
