The cranes have arrived
The first group of black-necked cranes, comprising of 24 adults and 13 juveniles, arrived in Phobjikha today.
347 cranes were roosted in Phobjikha valley in last winter.
Meanwhile, park officials at the Bumdeling Wildlife Sanctuary said they are expecting the cranes to arrive anytime.
The other winter habitats in Bhutan include Bumdeling in Trashiyangtshe, Khotokha in Wangduephodrang and Choekhor and Thangbi in Bumthang.
The cranes usually spend the four winter months in Bhutan and leave for their summer habitat in Tibet in mid march.
