Our group was overwhelmed at the experience we had
Dear Tashi,
Many thanks for sending us the picture of the Reincarnation. Really we were very impressed with him in the brief reception he gave us and all our group will be glad to have the picture you sent.
I would also like to augment the appreciation we set out in the feedback form you gave us and which we filled out and returned upon our departure. In fact we discussed this over breakfast, having decided to write one appreciation for all of us but I felt after the form had been filled in that our comments were very cursory relative to the warm feelings we had towards the organisation and attention which your staff showed.
Our group was overwhelmed at the experience we had during our twelve days in Bhutan. This was greatly enhanced by the extraordinarily well-thought out and executed organisation of the visit on the part of YANA Expeditions. The outward journey to Mongrar was strenuous but there was no other way to get there and we did want to see the black-necked crane festival and the Tshechu in Mongar. What was particularly well though-out was the way that we each time we came to a place, what we saw in terms of the historical monuments was each time more impressive: Mongar, Trongsa, Punakha. Walking to the Tiger’s Nest as the last day excursion was also well-concieved in that by then we were in trim from previous walks!
The organisation of all things aling the way, the attention to detail and the willingness always to attend to any questions or additional needs on behalf of Tentsing was supurb. The driving, which requires skill and stamina was also second to none, always achieving our destinatioin in good time, the driving was nevertheless careful, never taking risks.
Finally, when we met you and bombarded you with questions, I am sure the whole group came away the wiser from responses that were not to be forgotten. And we should not miss, as we did manage to mention on the feedback form our great appreciation of the rapid organisation of Julie’s and my Buddhist wedding ceremony that we will clearly never forget!
Best regards from our group “Adrian and Friends”,
Adrian Atkinson
Meant to be a trip of a lifetime, but now I hope to visit many more times…
Tashi
Thank you. Today was a culmination of an amazing experience in Bhutan being able to visit your Aunt and Grandmothers farm house. A great ending to an incredible week.
Our time in Bhutan has been spectacular. This was meant to be a trip of a lifetime, but now I hope we will visit many more times in our lifetime. While Bhutan offered pristine scenery, insights into Buddhism and culture, it is the people who made this trip special, especially Choki and Jamba. YANA lived up to its motto of being treated as guests, not as tourists. Choki in particular was an outstanding host, attentive to every detail, informative, and willing to share with us his own life experiences which allowed us to fully appreciate Bhutanese culture. At the end of our trip Choki became more like a friend than our tour guide. We appreciate this unique experience and the many personal touches that made this trip special.
Again, our sincere appreciation for a wonderful week in Bhutan. You have a beautiful country and a wonderful family, thank you for sharing with us.

An incredible day and an amazing way to end our trip…
Hi Tashi,
Thank you for a lovely dinner last night. It was so nice to finally meet you this week. I wish we had been able to spend more time with you.
Today was an incredible day and an amazing way to end our trip. We went to your grandparents’ farm house and met your aunt & uncle. The house was so interesting, and we really enjoyed seeing the inside of an actual Bhutanese home, especially one that belongs to your family. Then we went to your grandmother’s home and ate lunch there! That experience literally brought tears to my eyes. She is such a sweet lady. It was a very special experience, and one that we will always treasure forever. Our week in Bhutan has been so wonderful, we will remember it forever, as well as the warm, kind people we have met here and the incredible service provided by YANA Expeditions. Thank you for organizing such a fabulous week for us. Choki was a great guide, very helpful, patient (never rushing us & and allowing us to take thousands of photos) and he has a good sense of humor. Jamba has been a very professional driver, and always so helpful. He is always happy and smiling. Everything about this trip has been fantastic! Today was such a highlight, being able to get a glimpse into your family’s heritage.
I will make a dvd of our best photos to send you. Please email me your mailing address. We would also like to collect children’s books to send later, and will keep in touch with you regarding that.
Please know that if you are ever in Singapore, our home is your home… we would love for you to stay with us and we have a guest room waiting for you. I hope our paths will cross again soon. You are a good man and I really enjoyed meeting you.
We hope Choki will go to Hong Kong for the MacLehose Trail Walker, and if you can come too that would be awesome!!! We want to get the word out about YANA Expeditions!
Thank you again Tashi!!
Warmly,
Jonna
