Day 1 BANGKOK-PARO
The flight to Paro is a befitting introduction to Bhutan – an untouched pristine wilderness. Upon arrival the representatives of YANA Expeditions will meet you and transfer to your Bhutanese home – traditionally styled hotel. Afternoon lunch visit the National Museum of Bhutan and Paro Dzong. Welcome dinner and overnight at hotel

Day 2 PARO
Day Excursion to Taktshang Monastery literally known as Tiger’s Nest. Lunch at the Taktshang Cafeteria. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 PARO-THIMPHU
Morning you will hike to Kila Goenpa – a nunnery. There are superb view on all directions – the Haa Valley, Taktshang Goenpa and the Paro valley. Lunch at hotel and after lunch you will drive to Thimphu – the capital of Bhutan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4 THIMPHU
After breakfast, you will visit the Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum, and Institute for Zorig Chusum (Commonly known as Painting School) and National Library. Lunch in restaurant in town. After lunch you will drive north of Thimphu to hike to Tango Monastery – a college for learning higher Buddhist philosophy. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 THIMPHU-PUNAKHA
After breakfast you will visit Memorial Choten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Sangaygang viewpoint and Dupthob nunnery. Lunch in town. After lunch drive to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan. On a clear day panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas can be had, including Bhutan’s highest mountain, Mt. Gangkar Punsum (7550 m). Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 PUNAKHA
After breakfast you will visit the Punakha Dzong. Then you will hike to Khansum Yuelay Namgyal Choeten. The hike takes you through the terraced paddy fields. After lunch you will hike Chimi Lhakhang dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenlay. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 PUNAKHA-TRONGSA
Today is a long day drive to Trongsa but it is a journey you are not likely to forget. On route visit Wangdue Dzong built by Zhabdrung in 1638. Lunch will be served near the Chendebji Choeten. After lunch resume your journey to Trongsa. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8 TRONGSA-BUMTHANG (JAKAR)
In the morning you will wander around the Trongsa Township and visit the Trongsa Dzong. Lunch in Trongsa. After lunch you will drive to Bumthang. Evening at leisure. Overnight at lodge.

Day 9 BUMTHANG
You will start your day with the visit to Jambay Lhakhang. Then you will visit the Kurjey Lhakhang and you will visit the Thangbi Goenpa. Its an easy hike through some buck wheat fields. After lunch you will hike the otherside of Chamkhar Chu to visit Tamzhing Monastery, Kuenchosum Lhakhang – a temple of the Triple Gem. From here your transport will take you to the Swiss Farm. Evening you will visit the Jakar Dzong “Fortress of the white bird”. Overnight at lodge.

Day 10 BUMTHANG
Day excursion to Ura. On route you will hike two kilometers each way to visit Membertsho, which literally means the “Burning Lake.” From the Urala Pass you will hike to Ura village. Its all downhill and it will take about 45 minutes. Lunch box will be served near the Ura village. After lunch you will time to enjoy the painting in the Ura Lhakhang (temple). Return to Bumthang. Overnight at lodge.

Day 11 BUMTHANG-PUNAKHA
After breakfast you will say good-bye to Jakar to go to Punakha. On route tea stop in Trongsa. Resume the journey to Punakha. Lunch will be served at Chendebji Choeten. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12 PUNAKHA-PARO VIA THIMPHU
Today you go to Paro. You will stop in Thimphu for lunch and you will have time to do the final shopping you may have. Afternoon you drive to Paro. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 HAA VALLEY
Day excursion to Haa valley. The visit to Lhakhang Karpo and Chundu Lhakhang will give you an insight on the history of the valley. Will in restaurant in Haa town. Return to Paro for our final night in the country. Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 14 PARO-BANGKOK
After breakfast you will drive to Paro International Airport for your onward destination. Your YANA Expeditions Team will assist you with check in formalities and bid you farewell.
